Canadian Cycling Magazine: impressed…

“Overall, we were impressed with both the ride quality of the Vitess bikes and the business model [...]. Trying to sell well-off cyclists a high-end bike that doesn’t carry a long-established brand name isn’t an easy task, but the showroom approach is refreshing. With longer test rides than just about anyone in the industry, it’s worth taking a Vitess out for a spin before deciding on your next high-end road bike.” – Canadian Cycling Magazine Aug/Sep 2011 edition.

If you are not a subscriber of Canada’s largest cycling print publication Canadian Cycling Magazine, we encourage you to pass by your closest newsstand and pick up a copy of their Aug/Sep 2011 edition. You’ll find a lot of great articles and some really interesting bike reviews – one of them is especially exciting – it’s about Vitess: our bikes and our approach to market.

After profiling Vitess as one of the 4 high-end bikes to consider in Canada (see their 2011 Buyers Guide here ), we are absolutely thrilled that the editorial staff invested the time to take one of our bikes for a week down in the US earlier this year and to report on their findings. This is basically the rationale supporting their initial decision to include Vitess in their Buyers Guide.

Prior to going to print, a teaser video was produced – see below:

The Vitess tested was equipped with Dura-Ace 7900, a prestige rider interface and a pair of Topolino CTR2.0 wheels. The later are the wheels that many of our riders have been selecting because of the superb balance between comfort and performance. Their proprietary spoke/hub construction is the core of Topolino’s offering – a mix of carbon fibre and Kevlar and continuous rim-to-rim spokes. This principle offers the advantage of lightweight wheels, superior NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) dampening and with a 24/30 spoke count … great lateral stiffness and sturdiness on harsh roads. It is often said – “as close to German-made Lightweight wheels as it gets”. We agree, and this is why both Topolino and Lightweight are Vitess’ wheels of choice – of course in addition to the superb wheels that Shimano has been supplying us: Ultegra and Dura-Ace series products.

This editorial piece is fantastic material and we are grateful to Dan Dakin – Editor-in-Chief, and his team for taking the time for researching and experiencing Vitess first-hand and for reporting to the cycling community in such an incredibly positive way. This is very rewarding for all of us at Vitess.
