Osler Bluff vs. Alpine: who’s got the power?

24.01.12

A weekend in Collingwood (ON) in January or February is about family gathering, great fun and a hefty dose of winter sports.

Most folks would enjoy the public slopes of the Blue Mountains ski resort. Although some would prefer the less crowded and perhaps more exclusive slopes that belong to a few of the top private ski clubs in Ontario.

Given the elite and exclusive nature of clubs such as Alpine or Osler Bluff, one might wonder how powerful their members are? And most importantly, how do they compare? It isn’t easy to say for sure.

Or, is it?

With our analytical and curious minds, we have developed a process to find that out: this is our latest Vitess Challenge. Let the PowerPlay begin!

For the 3rd year in a row, Vitess is absolutely thrilled to collaborate with both Osler Bluff and Alpine Ski Clubs and their members, and to get involved in creating excitement during the course of the social events season.

Two of those events within a series of ten, are Men’s Days: taking place at Alpine on Friday January 27th and at Osler Bluff on Friday February 3rd.

We chose those 2 specific days to turn our PowerPlay idea into reality and attempt to quantify how much power club members truly yield and which club is effectively the most powerful one.

As part of the Vitess Lounge that will be welcoming members in the world of Vitess, we allocated some space for an eye-opening challenge that will put our guests to the task. We partnered with the absolute reference in the field, Montreal-based Powerwatts and their Toronto crew will be on-site to help us quantify this power answer: not wallet-power, but truly leg-power…

Leveraging their expertise, protocols and equipment used to test Olympians and pro-cyclists alike, we are confident that we’ll get to the bottom of it… Let the strongest win. And they’ll be lots of cool prizes to be won.

As any Yellow Jersey holder would attest, power is not only about individual performance: it also is about group achievement. We will be able to draw a conclusion backed by numbers, and publish it: who’s got the power?

Not quite sure when and what the challenge is?
