It was at the Springbank Road Race, a local London race when I first encountered a Vitess bike. I have to be honest; it was the car in front of the Vitess display that caught my eye. I don’t drive, so I looked beyond the car and took a closer look at the bikes and I was impressed with the clean lines, the simplicity, and professional design of the frame. I went on to win my race and as a 16 year old, I am grateful for the bike I have. However, a boy is allowed to dream.

I researched Vitess on their website and I learned that they take a completely different approach from other bike manufacturers I am familiar with. They deal directly with the rider rather than selling through the retailer and provide a one on one relationship between Vitess and the cyclist.

I have been racing in the Ontario Road Series for several years and I have had many victories in both Cadet and Junior. I have represented Canada as a track cyclist in the Junior Pan American Championships in Mexico City. I have had the opportunity to test ride several of the leading carbon fibre bikes on the market.

Art Adams with Vitess provided me with the opportunity to test ride a fully loaded Vitess for several days. I went from riding my aluminum bike to test riding a high end carbon Vitess frame equipped with high end components and carbon fibre wheels. As soon as I climbed onto the bike, I immediately felt the stiffness in speed and the incredible response through every pedal stroke. On my first ride, the bike felt extremely comfortable while being aggressive in its handling. For the next few days, the geometry of the bike began to grow on me and I became more familiar with the bike. Plain and simple, I was falling in love with this Vitess bike, to only have my heart broken when my test ride was over.

Vitess builds an amazing product along with the dedicated people involved with the company. Buying a Vitess bike would be an extremely satisfying and long lasting experience. My dealings with Vitess lead me to believe the company is committed to the product and developing relationships with their riders.
